Shirei Shabbat
Friday nights
Knesset Israel organizes a variety of Kabbalat Shabbat services, from traditional to contemporary in style. Please join us for these services and, on a monthly basis, the delicious community dinners that follow. During the summer months, services are occasionally held outside in the Braun Memorial Garden, but when the service is scheduled to be in the sanctuary, we also livestream it.
Shirei Shabbat services, featuring the KI Band, are lively and participatory. Presented by the KI Band about once a month.
Musical Minyan creates a mellow atmosphere to welcome shabbat, using acoustic instrumentation and gentle harmonies. About once a month.
Traditional Kabbalat Shabbat, without musical accompaniment, is led by one or more lay shlihei tzibbur. About twice a month.
Community Shabbat Dinners, cosponsored by the Harold Grinspoon Foundation Rekindle Shabbat grants, take place once a month. These events are a great way to connect with others in the congregation. Advance reservations ($20/adult, free/under 18) are required for dinner. Sometimes the dinners are prepared by volunteers.
