Knesset Israel encourages family involvement in every area of Jewish life, from services to holiday programming to Jewish education. The congregation creates opportunities to help learners of all ages develop intellectually, emotionally and spiritually in the context of a supportive community. We are serious about being welcoming and understand that every familiy is unique. We affirm that families with children who have special needs, LGBT families, interfaith families, people of color, families headed by a single parent or grandparent, etc, are all welcome.
We further share a commitment that financial hardship should not compromise a child's Jewish education or an individual's participation in congregational life. Therefore, Jewish education is considered a benefit of membership; Knesset Israel members do not pay a separate Hebrew School tuition. Providing a quality Jewish education is fundamental to the identity and purpose of Congregation Knesset Israel.
Knesset Israel supports families sending their children to Jewish summer camp, especially Camp Ramah in New England.
