Some say that Kohelet (Ecclesiastes) is the most cynical book in Tanakh, while others see in the book’s wisdom some of the most realistic and pragmatic insights that Scripture has to offer. In four sessions, Dr. Hal Lewis will examine the historical context, philosophy, literary style, values, and theology of this “wacky and wonderful” biblical book. Participants may bring their own English translation of the book to each class, though HL Ginsberg’s, "The Five Megilloth and Ruth" is recommended.
