Program Change: Ramblin' with the Rav - The High Road

4.9 Miles, 900'+ Elevation Gain

Weds., August 3, 8:30 a.m., about 3 hours of hiking plus transit time.

Join Rabbi Weiner for a great hike, good company, and a little Torah on Weds., August 3, when we walk a portion of the Berkshire High Road, one-way from Pleasant Valley Wildlife Sanctuary to Bousquet in Pittsfield. (This hike replaces our more strenuous planned excursion to Mt. Greylock.)

We'll meet at the trailhead at Bousquet to shuttle to Pleasant Valley. We'll descend through a meadow to a stream crossing, then climb (<900') in about 1.5 miles, alongside a cascading brook to the Lenox Fire Tower. A mostly level/downhill walk along the ridge takes us past Yokun Seat to Mahanna Cobble. Great views over Richmond, the October Mountain ridge, and Pittsfield. The hike concludes with a quick descent alongside the ski slopes to the Bousquet parking lot.

This hike is suitable for new and experienced hikers who are physically prepared for a 5-mile hike up and down a hill & in the woods.

A fee may apply for those who are not members of Mass Audobon or residents of Lenox. Pre-registration is essential to receive more information about gear, logistics, and what to bring.

The rain date is Weds., August 10.

Sorry, Registration has ended.
