Intro to Torah: The Book of Revolutions
This course explores the emergence of the ideas and texts that became the Torah, with attention to historical context as well as religious development. Participants will be asked to read one chapter at a time of Rabbi Feld's book, but discussions in class will focus on study of primary texts that illustrate and elucidate his arguments. Texts will be presented in English.
The book is appropriately sophisticated, nuanced, and academic. It deserves a slow reading. As always, class sessions will be built around vibrant, exciting, sharp, relevant discussions.
Class will meet on many Thursday mornings, 10:45-noon, beginning November 6. It will continue into the winter and probably into the spring as well. All, including members of KI and TAA, are welcome.
Here is an Amazon link to purchase the book. It is also available from other sources.
New participants are welcome to join this class. Folks who want to receive reminder and informational emails should ask Diana to add them to the class list.
- In-person in the KI Library
- Also on Zoom
