The course will explore the questions of where the history in the Hebrew Bible matches the science of archaeology, and where archaeological evidence doesn’t conform to the Biblical narrative. The four sessions will cover:
•The Bible (definition, oldest sources, translations, and comparative sources)
•Archaeology (how it works, goals, techniques, and latest technologies)
•Biblical Archaeology (what archeology teaches us about the Bible)
•Historicity, the Biblical Narrative, and Archaeological Findings
To have a complete understanding of the course, it is best to attend all four sessions. The class is hybrid. We will meet in person in the KI library and a Zoom option link will be sent with registration confirmation.
