hamantashen & PURIM

Order Hamantashen

KI offers its congregants the opportunity to share the joy of Purim by giving others Mishloah Manot gift bags filled with our own KI-made hamantashen. Mishloah Manot describes the mitzvah of exchanging gifts of food during the holiday of Purim. Anyone may also purchase hamantashen by the dozen.

The order deadline for this year was February 15, 2024.

Purim Concert

KI Band Celebrates MTV Unplugged in its Annual Purim Concert: Saturday night, March 16, 8:30 p.m. RSVP!

Always creative and striving to bring you new themes, the band will explore its favorite MTV Unplugged songs representing the wide variety of artists who performed on the popular concert series between 1989 and 2014. Groundbreaking artists such as 10,000 Maniacs, Bruce Springsteen, Indigo Girls, Allman Brothers Band, Eric Clapton, Paul Simon, Jay-Z, and many others will be represented, while our "house band" will feature a rotating cast of special guests. We recreate and perform the original songs, but with parody lyrics that tell the Purim story. A little bawdy, a little funny, and a little serious, our tribute both to great music and the holiday of Purim is always a huge hit at KI.

Don't let the title and theme fool you... while the instrumentation will be more "acoustic" than previous years, there will still be plenty of opportunities to dance and celebrate. This year is especially momentous, as we will be joined by guest musicians from both Temple Anshe Amunim and Hevreh.

Here's a link to the recording and a link to the program book from last year.
