Sun, October 20 - Father Loop, Alford Springs
Easy/Moderate, 4.3 miles, 784’, 2-2.5 hours
Celebrate Sukkot and autumn with a hike that abuts the Massachusetts-New York state line. The Alford Springs reserve includes reforested land - a different sort of landscape from many hikes in the Berkshires - and surprisingly good views all the way to Mt. Greylock. Leashed dogs are welcome.
The route isn't tough, and the surface is relatively smooth, but the pacing will be about 1.75-2 mph. Those who move more slowly and/or wish to hike a shorter route may turn around at the viewpoint about a mile in to return to the parking lot. (If you think you might do that, consider driving yourself to the trailhead, rather than carpooling.)
Meet at KI at 10 a.m. to carpool to the trailhead. It is also possible to meet us there at about 10:45.
Rain date, Sun, October 27
Registration opens 09/01/2025 12:00:00 AM
