Knesset Israel Hebrew School Highlights

Schedule
- K-2nd graders attend Tuesdays, 4:00-6:00 pm, and Shabbat 10:00-noon
- 3rd through 7th graders attend Tuesdays and Thursdays, 4:00-6:00 pm, and Shabbat from 10:00 am-noon.
- 8th-12th graders attend on Thursday evenings, 5:00-7:00, and Shabbat
- Advanced Hebrew for day school alumni an optional Hebrew conver-sation course are offered.
Thursday Evenings: 8th-12th grades
- Provocative courses include holocaust, Jewish civics and what Judaism says about “hot” issues of our time.
- Israeli dancing elective at 4:15 stimulates creative choreography for performances at the Boston and Albany Dance Festivals.
- January-term offers fun electives like cooking and Israeli dance.
Shabbat Programs
- Monthly parent-run Tot Shabbat for infants-Kindergrtners
- Jr. Congregation, 10:00-noon, a participatory learning service
- Teen leader inspires service leading skills for all participants
B’Nai Mitzvah Program
- Unique 7th grade Bar/Bat Mitzvah training programC
- Creative mitzvah projects help heal the world (tikkun olam)
- Each B’nai Mitzvah “drash” (speech) links the ancient texts to issues of our times

- Babies and Bagels monthly program
- Parents share issues and children play happily

- Intergenerational programs where everyone learns together
- Diverse Jewish content is explored for all age groups
Adult Education
- From beginner to advanced levels
- Entry level Hebrew Marathon and Hebrew reading practice
- Mini-series, weekly Talmud sessions, guest speakers and teachers
